What is Magick, a symbolic story guide
Sometimes it’s not the big things that have the most impact, it’s all the small things adding up. What is magick was created out of a desire to complete a set. And that how it started out.
Once the first chapter was complete, at least in the sense that I knew what I wanted it to be about, the entirety of the project came to my mind. I knew what I wanted to say. If nothing else this book represents a key moment in my life, a moment where I had a deep appriciation for life and question to something that has been living in the back of my mind for a while.
What is Magick? dares to ask this question—and by doing so, creates many more. Each one arrives like a gift wrapped in multicolored paper, tied with a bow. We hold it gently, admiring the mystery that exists only in this moment that feels like eternity. Then the rope is pulled, the puzzle unravels, and we tear through the paper, lift the cardboard flaps—only to reveal yet another gift, just as beautiful, just as enticing.
“There are things we know, things we believe we know, and things we don’t yet have words for.”
Boxes within boxes. Layers of reality, each obscuring the next, each asking us to pull it back and see what’s been hidden. Closer and closer, we move toward the source of these strange and wonderful questions. Forget wands, potions, and dusty old grimoires… We want magick.
A Taoist cat on the run from the IRS. Impossible inventions. Statues that come to life. You’ll be asked to consider the unturned stones on your path—to look beyond what’s visible, and peer into the pockets of reality where magick (if it exists) might just be hiding. A bit of humor, a touch of absurdity, and a whole lot of curiosity make this an unexpected journey. Let yourself be part of the story. The magick is in the mystery. And the mystery?
That’s for you to discover.
