Hi I’m Israel Ruiz,

I’m a 21 year old creator and artist.

To me being an artist is taking two ideas and smashing them together to make some wierd amalgomation that’s naver been seen before. Usually the process involves breaking something.

On the other side of that coin, I do actualy make things that serve a purpose beyond my own sick curiosity and questionable desire to play God.

I’m broadly speaking a creator. I make things.

Why are video games important?

I believe that beyond survival is a desire to connect and play.

When we connect and play in the world of imagination, we can move beyond the limits of your own minds and experience something beyond ourselves.

People connect to stories, and stories are made of symbols. When we interact with these symbols we become part of the story and the world and all it’s characters become a part of who we are.

The point of a story is to take us from one place to another. From bigging to end. If we are open to it this journey changes us. Making us more empathetic, more open, and more involved in the story of our own lives.

I believe that the emmersive experience that video games can offer is something that goes under appriciated, hell, even the value of a good story is under appricated.

Why do I create Art?

Creators like Issac Asomoph, Terry Pratchet, Bill Waterson, Toby Fox, and Dan Salvoto all have had a profound impact on me and my life.

Their stories have help make me into who I am today, and now as I get older, they make me feel understood. They have helped grow my inner life and now these stories, characters and people have a place in my heart and imagination.

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “Hurt people hurt people” , and it’s very true. But it’s also true that “inspired people inspire people”.

I want to express and share the joy that these artists have brought into my life. I consider it my due dilligance to create, and share, just as those before me have done.

What I’m up to?

At this point in my carear I’m taking the steps to make what I do more offical professional. I’m still making video games, writing stories and philosophizing about the meaning of life.

I’m a self taught artist so creating online resources for people who want to make games and art is something I’m passionate about and will continue to do. Since, this is how I learned myself.

I post game development tutorials on my main Youtube channel IsraeRuizGodot and secondary content on Snakewithlegs. Everything else and more will be on this website.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. May the odds ever be in your favor, safe travels and happy hunting!
